Disneyland Paris has made a whole slate of announcements regarding Walt Disney Studios Paris, which is to be renamed Disney Adventure World next year, during a presentation to celebrate the resort’s 33rd anniversary. The Disney Adventure World expansion is quickly gaining steam and the announcements made today are exciting, to say the least. Let’s dive into all the major announcements that were shared today.

Exclusive First Look at Lion King Flume Ride
Previously announced at D23 in 2024, Disneyland Paris has given us new details about the forthcoming Lion King attraction. We knew it was going to be a water flume ride, but now Disneyland Paris has shared new concept art for the ride, including a look at the exterior of the attraction and a look at one of the interior show scenes. The ride honestly looks very impressive and makes me wonder why it took Disney this long to make a Lion King ride.
Disney also confirmed that the ride will retell the story of the Lion King, featuring scenes and songs from the beloved movie. I hope this means that the ride will be similar to Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey in Tokyo with how it brings an animated movie to life. The ride will feature a 30 meter (100 foot) tall Pride Rock, as well as a 50 foot drop. It’ll feature a plethora of animatronics and three drops. Construction will begin in Fall 2025.
This is the ride coming to Paris that I’m most excited for. I will make a trip to see it as soon as it opens to the public. Lion King is one of my absolute favorite Disney movies so being able to experience a Lion King ride will be nothing short of spectacular.
World’s First Up Themed Ride
Disney Adventure World will also be home to the world’s first Up themed attraction! This flying carousel ride is similar to Silly Symphony Swings at Disney California Adventure. It will be located in Adventure Way opposite the Tangled spinner ride. It was the only new ride announced for Disney Adventure World during the presentation.
While I’m excited to finally be getting some Up representation at the Disney Parks, I wish the first Up ride in the world was more elaborate. A spinner ride, while fun, doesn’t utilize the IP to its fullest extent. A boat ride or flying dark ride similar to Peter Pan would’ve been cool. Also, it’s weird that it’s not going into Worlds of Pixar, but nevertheless I’m still excited that we’re getting an Up ride.
Details on Frozen Expansion
More details about Disney Adventure World’s World of Frozen land have been released by Disney. Disney revealed that the North Mountain was just topped off. They also announced that you will be able to step into the castle at World of Frozen, which will be home to an Anna and Elsa meet and greet. Frozen Ever After is also coming along nicely, with the over 34 different animatronics in the ride being currently programmed.
Adventure Bay Nighttime Spectacular
Disneyland has revealed concept art for the yet-to-be-named nighttime spectacular arriving at Adventure Bay next year. The show will feature water projections, fountains, drones, and special effects. Teams have already begun conducting tests for the show, which looks to be like a more technologically advanced World of Color. I’m excited for this as I am a huge fan of Disney’s nighttime spectaculars. This show will hopefully be even better than World of Color.
Adventure Way Details
Disney announced that Adventure Way will serve as a “crossroads between the front of the park and the new immersive worlds”. As mentioned, it will include an Up and a Tangled themed attraction. The Tangled attraction will be similar to Mad Tea Party except guests will ride on boats instead of tea cups. Disney also revealed that Mandy Moore will reprise her role as Rapunzel for the announcements of the ride.
Adventure Way will also be home to the Regal View Restaurant and Lounge. It will feature a character dining experience with the Disney princesses, as well as viewing areas for the Adventure Bay nighttime spectaculars.
I personally think the space could have been utilized better than just for two flat rides and a restaurant, but there’s no doubt in my mind that this will be an incredibly beautiful area. I can’t wait to see it all come together.
World Premiere Opening Date
The Disney Adventure World Expansion will start with the opening of World Premiere, the new front entrance of the park, on May 15, 2025. Featuring nods to LA and Disney, as well as an all-new story, World Premiere will also feature new decor to make guests feel like they’re strolling down an authentic replication of Hollywood Boulevard.
It will be lit with a night sky throughout the day, and will include a quick service restaurant titled The Hollywood Gardens Restaurant, which will also have a takeaway counter for some snacks and hot and cold drinks. The Mickey’s of Hollywood Boutique will also be featured in World Premiere. The store will be inspired by classic American department stores of the 1920s.
