Premier Access at Hong Kong Disneyland Guide

When I last visited Hong Kong Disneyland in 2024, World of Frozen had just opened. At the time, it was barely 2 months old, so of course it was packed. My family wanted to ride Frozen Ever After one last time before we left the park that day. Only problem was we had to be in the airport in 2 hours and the line for the ride was 60 minutes. We caved and decided to purchase a premier access pass for all 4 of us to get on the ride quickly. Our experience with it was pretty positive, and so I thought I’d write a post about Premier Access at Hong Kong Disneyland and tell you all you need to know about this new (or revamped) service.

Just like other Disney Parks around the world, Hong Kong Disneyland used to have a service called Fastpass. Fastpass was a free service that anyone could use to skip the lines for certain rides at the park. Unfortunately, only three rides in Hong Kong Disneyland’s history used Fastpass: Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, and the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. After the pandemic, a new paid skip-the-line service called Premier Access debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland.

But how does this new service work? What are the differences between Premier Access and Fastpass, aside from the latter being free? And is it worth purchasing for your trip? In this post I’m going to discuss the ins and outs of the new service, as well as give you some advice and touring tips. I’ll also give my thoughts on whether I think this is a service you should use when you visit Hong Kong Disneyland.

What is Premier Access at Hong Kong Disneyland?

Premier Access is Hong Kong Disneyland’s skip-the-line service. It’s a paid service that allows you to access a secondary queue for an attraction that is a lot shorter than the standby queue. Unlike HKDL’s previous skip-the-line service called Fastpass, Premier Access services a lot more attractions.

It also can be bundled into different packages, which I will explain in a bit. Please note that this is different from the standby pass that you can also get for some shows and attractions. It is also different from the Early Park Entry Pass that gives you access to select attractions 1 hour before official park opening.

Which Rides are Included in Premier Access?

Which attractions you will have access to will usually depend on if you buy one of the Premier Access Packages or if you buy the Premier Access Single Attraction Passes. Generally, most attractions in the park (with the exception of Fairy Tale Forest, Fantasy Gardens, Tarzan’s Treehouse, Animation Academy, the Main Street Vehicles, and the Hong Kong Disneyland railroad) are either included in the packages, can be purchased as a single attraction pass, or both. Included among those attractions for which Premier Access is available are two stage shows (which change depending on when you visit) and the nighttime spectacular Momentous.

What are the Premier Access Single Attraction Passes and the Premier Access Packages? What Is the Difference Between the Two?

Premier Access Single Attraction Passes allow you access to a single specified attraction. You can buy a Premier Access Single Attraction Pass for almost every attraction in the park, including those included in the Premier Access Packages.

Premier Access Packages are an alternative to the Single Attraction Passes and allow you to basically “buy in bulk” and save money by buying a package that includes some (but not all) of the attractions that are also available as a Single Attraction pass.

The number of Premier Access Passes you get as part of a package depends on which of the packages you purchase. By buying a package, you’ll pay less per Premier Access pass than what you would have paid if you had bought them all as Premier Access Single Attraction Passes. Take note though that some attractions are only available as single attraction passes.

What Are the Packages and Which Attractions are Included in Each Package? How Much Does Each Package Cost?

Please note that these prices and packages are current as of February 2025 but are always subject to change. Another thing to note is that the Premier Access Packages get more expensive depending on the day you visit. Visiting during peak periods may mean paying a little more for these packages.

Also, as far as I can see, only the packages are structured with this variable pricing scheme. The prices for Single Attraction Passes should stay the same no matter when you visit, although some attractions can be moved to another Single Attraction Pass tier at any time.

For the Premier Access Single Attraction Pass, there are two tiers: the HK$109 tier and the HK$89 tier. The only attraction not included as a Premier Access Single Attraction Pass that can be found as part of a Premier Access Package is Momentous. Here are the other rides and their prices as listed.

HK$109 Tier:

  • Mickey and the Wondrous Book
  • Festival of the Lion King
  • Duffy and Friends Play House
  • Frozen Ever After
  • Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs
  • Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars
  • Toy Soldier Parachute Drop
  • Slinky Dog Spin
  • RC Racer
  • Hyperspace Mountain
  • Jungle River Cruise

HK$89 Tier:

  • Mystic Manor
  • Iron Man Experience
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • It’s a Small World
  • Cinderella Carousel
  • Mad Hatter Tea Cups
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • Orbitron

Now onto the packages! There are 3 different packages to choose from: the 3 Attractions Package, the 8 Attractions Package, and the “Momentous”, 8 Attractions and 2 Shows Package. Let me explain each below.

The 3 Attractions package gives you access to 3 of 5 designated attractions. You get to pick which of the 5 included attractions you want to use your 3 passes on, but you cannot use it on the same ride more than once. Meaning if you want to ride Mystic Manor again after using one of your passes on it, you’ll either have to wait in the standby queue or buy a Premier Access Single Attraction Pass for Mystic Manor. The 5 included attractions (as of February 2025) are: Mystic Manor, Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle, It’s a Small World, and Iron Man Experience. This package is priced starting from HK$199.

The 8 Attractions package gives you access to 8 designated attractions. Unlike the 3 attractions package, you will get one Premier Access pass for all 8 attractions. Again, if you want to ride any of the 8 rides again, you either need to wait in the standby queue or buy a Premier Access Single Attraction Pass for that attraction. The included attractions are: Frozen Ever After, It’s a Small World, Mystic Manor, Hyperspace Mountain, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle, Iron Man Experience, Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars, and Mickey’s Philharmagic. This package is priced starting from HK$429

The “Momentous”, 8 Attractions and 2 Shows Package includes all 8 attractions included in the 8 attractions tier, as well as access to viewing areas for 2 shows and the nighttime spectacular Momentous. Currently the two shows you can gain access to are Mickey and the Wondrous Book and whichever castle stage show is currently on. Previously it included access to Festival of the Lion King instead of the castle stage show, so check the package before you purchase as it is subject to change. This package is priced starting from HK$659.

Where and When Can I Buy Premier Access?

Premier Access Single Attraction Passes can only be bought and used on the day of your visit. Packages can be booked a maximum of two weeks before the day of your intended visit from the Hong Kong Disneyland website and can only be used on the day you booked them for.

If you would like to save a little money, you can also book them through the website Klook. The Klook website will even include a small discount of about HK$10 – HK$15 and you can book it three months in advance instead of just two weeks.

Take note that buying Premier Access, whether through Klook or Hong Kong Disneyland, does not equate to buying a park ticket and making a reservation. Premier Access is an add on. You must still purchase a separate admission ticket and make a park reservation to be able to access the park and use Premier Access.

I’ve linked the exact page on Klook where you can buy these packages below. Take note: Only the 3 Attractions Package and the 8 Attractions Package can be bought on Klook. Premier Access Single Attraction Passes and the Momentous package need to be booked via Hong Kong Disneyland, whether on the app on the day of your visit or on their website before your visit.

How Does It Work? How Do You Use It?

Premier Access at Hong Kong Disneyland Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleighs

Once you’ve purchased the Premier Access Passes, whether through Klook or via the Hong Kong Disneyland website, they should be linked to your Disney account and, if they aren’t, you should receive instructions on how to link them.

After linking them to your account, you are basically free to use them at any time. One difference between Lightning Lane in the US Disney Parks and Premier Access at Hong Kong Disneyland is that Premier Access isn’t bound by time like how the Lightning Lane Multi and Single Passes are. You can use them at any time throughout the day, which in turn makes you a lot more flexible.

If you purchase the Single Attraction Passes, you can use them at any point after purchasing them, as long as you use them on the same day you purchased them. Packages can be used from the moment the park opens till the park closes.

Using your Premier Access Pass is really simple. Once you arrive at an attraction, have your passes ready on your phone for the cast member to scan. You can access your passes via the app if you’re logged into your account. Have the cast member scan your QR code and they’ll direct you to the shorter queue.

How much time you’ll save with Premier Access will depend on where the merge point for each attraction is. The merge point is the point in the queue where the standby and Premier Access lines meet. Sometimes it’s right at the loading area, meaning you get to ride almost instantly (like at Dumbo for example). Other times it’s a little ways away from the loading area (like Frozen Ever After). Either way, you shouldn’t wait for longer than 10 minutes.

For the two stage shows, arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime in order to ensure that you get a good seat or viewing spot for the show. Approach a cast member working at the show and show them your Premier Access passes. They should let you in with minimal to no wait.

For Momentous, it’s recommended to arrive at least 40 minutes before showtime to get the best view. Your viewing area will be at the front of the castle, and there are two designated entrances to the viewing area. You may enter either one, just take note of where they are in the diagram below.

Is the Premier Access Pass worth it? If yes, how should we use them?

Personally, I don’t think buying Premier Access packages in advance is worth it. For most days of the year, lines for attractions rarely exceed 30 minutes, even for new rides like Frozen Ever After. It would be a waste to buy Premier Access to skip the lines when they’re short anyway.

I would monitor the Hong Kong Disneyland app in the days preceding your trip to get a gauge of how long lines have been recently. If they have been long, then consider buying Premier Access on the day of your visit. But if the top rides like Frozen Ever After are peaking at 30 minute waits, then I wouldn’t purchase it.

I recommend buying Premier Access on the day of your visit because, as mentioned, you won’t know what crowds are going to be like until you’re at the park. For all we know, even if the days leading up to your trip are busy, the day of your visit might not be. There’s no way of knowing for sure until you get there.

If you get to the park and find by midday that lines are longer than what you initially thought they’d be, then purchase Premier Access. They rarely sell out so you would be fine buying them on the day itself.

If you know you’re visiting during a busy day like a Saturday in the summer or any day during the Lunar New Year, I would absolutely recommend buying Premier Access Passes. I would even say to splurge on the Momentous, 8 attractions and 2 shows package to get the most bang for your buck. Days like this at HKDL are rare, however, so only buy it if you’re sure you’re going to need it.

Now you’re probably wondering, how can I utilize Premier Access at Hong Kong Disneyland to ensure that I’m maximizing my time. Well, I would start by reading my 1-Day Hong Kong Disneyland itinerary and my 2-Day Hong Kong Disneyland itinerary. These itineraries are structured to be followed with or without Premier Access. Having Premier Access means you’ll finish the itinerary early, allowing you to repeat your favorites.

As a tip and general rule of thumb, you’ll want to save your Premier Access Passes for when the park is at its busiest, which is usually from 12pm to about 6pm. Try to ride as much as you can before 12pm and then use all your passes when the lines are longest. This’ll make sure you get the most out of your day and will also help you ride attractions multiple times if you choose to do so.

Conclusion

Premier Access at Hong Kong Disneyland is a great service that allows for maximum flexibility and convenience. While I do miss the free Fastpass service, this change feels like an upgrade because of the packages that you can purchase (which can save you money), the fact that you can use them at any time, and because it comes with special viewing areas for shows.

My final piece of advice for those who are still on the fence about this service is to ask yourself whether adding this to your ticket would improve your experience at the park. If you think it will then by all means go ahead! If not, then I would use that money on something else like food or merchandise. Whether you choose to buy it or not, I hope you have the best time at Hong Kong Disneyland! It truly is a magical place.
