The last few times I’ve been to Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL), I’ve noticed more and more people going to Hong Kong Disneyland for the sole purpose of taking pictures. They’re usually dressed in nice outfits and have with them extendable tripods so they can take as many pictures of themselves as they want. For these people, Hong Kong Disneyland is their own personal photo studio, which I think is a pretty unique and fun way to interact with the park. Even if you aren’t as serious as these people about taking pictures but want to know the best photo spots at Hong Kong Disneyland, then this post is for you!

I’m going to be breaking down the best photo spots in the park, from World of Frozen to Mystic Point. I’ll also be giving you some photo tips, such as when to take pictures in the park and will also tell you about some of the photo services that Hong Kong Disneyland offers in case you’re interested. So without further ado, let’s go through the best photo spots at Hong Kong Disneyland!

Klook.comBest Photo Spots at Hong Kong Disneyland
Welcome to Hong Kong Disneyland Sign

The iconic arch that everyone passes under to get to the park, the Welcome to Hong Kong Disneyland sign is probably one of the most photographed locations in Hong Kong Disneyland, up there with the castle and World of Frozen. My top tip for pictures here is to get to the park way before it opens to the public (like about 30 minutes to an hour before). That way, you can take pictures here without crowds.
Another tip I have is there is actually a second, smaller arch on the other side of Park Promenade that leads to the hotels. If you’re staying at the hotels, consider walking to the park through this passageway and taking pictures at the smaller sign. It’ll be a lot less crowded than the main sign, that’s for sure.
Mickey Whale Fountain

This iconic fountain features Mickey Mouse riding a surfboard on top of the spout of a whale. A lot of people rush to the park’s gates that they forget to take pictures at this spot. I would highly recommend taking pictures here, with my top tip being that there are smaller statues of various Disney characters stationed around the main whale. Take the time to take pictures of and with each smaller statue if you can!
Klook.comMain Street Train Station and Mickey Floral

The first major photo spot in the park is the Mickey floral and Main Street station. It’s located right at the entrance to the park, and the floral changes depending on the time of year. If you want pictures with it, I recommend taking one off center so you can get a better angle of the floral. Also, if you purchase Early Park Entry Passes, you can also take pictures here while everyone rushes to World of Frozen.
Duffy and Friends Play House
Inside the Duffy and Friends playhouse are a bunch of little photo spots and props themed to Duffy and Friends that you can take pictures with. Most people entering this area head straight for the Duffy and Friends characters, but I would take the time to actually peruse and look around the playhouse as there are some really cute photo ops that you might miss if you just go straight to the characters. Or if the characters are the main priority, then explore the Playhouse when you’re done meeting the characters.
Castle of Magical Dreams

The undisputed number 1 best photo spot at Hong Kong Disneyland is the Castle of Magical Dreams. The icon of the park, there really isn’t any bad angle of the castle. That being said, the best places to take pictures with it are in the first fence as you come from the hub, as well as the first 2 rows of the viewing area. Don’t go too close as the castle is tall, which might result in weird angles.
There’s a little grotto themed to Snow White on the right side of the castle that you can also take pictures with. My top tip is to get your pictures in before noon. Hong Kong Disneyland is oriented from east to west with the entrance facing east. That means that the castle becomes backlit in the afternoon. If you want good lighting, take your pics in the morning.
Klook.comBridge in Adventureland with Tarzan Treehouse View

When you enter Adventureland, there’s a small bridge behind the Jungle Junction theater that leads to the Korea Squid cart. From this bridge you have a great view of Tarzan’s Treehouse. This is the only true landmark in the land, and this is the best view you’re going to get of it! It also makes for really good nighttime pictures if you’re a photographer, as the entire Adventureland will be lit with torches.
Adventureland Instruments and Liki Tikis Area
Near the entrance to the Jungle River Cruise is a little area that has a variety of musical instruments like bongos and xylophones, all themed to the jungle aesthetic of Adventureland. This is a nice place to take photos of you using the various instruments. The Liki Tikis are also nearby, which also makes for a good photo opp.
Klook.comGrizzly Gulch Photo Spots

Grizzly Gulch has a lot of different Photo Spots. My favorite is the one that overlooks Big Grizzly Mountain itself. To find the spot, look for the Big Grizzly Mountain Lookout informational display as seen in this picture.
The town of Grizzly Gulch itself has a lot of different photo spots. My personal favorites are the Welcome to Grizzly Gulch sign, the ginormous nugget, and the town jail where you can put your head on some wanted posters. Another good one is the test seat for the ride outside the ride’s entrance, as well as the geyser found in Geyser Gulch.
Klook.comMystic Manor

My second favorite picture spot, Mystic Manor is a beautiful building that incorporates different architectural styles in its design, alluding to the eccentric nature of its owner, Lord Henry Mystic. When taking pictures here, make sure to get shots at a low angle so that the entire manor is seen. Also, there’s a little ledge near the front of the manor where you can sit while taking your pictures.
Mystic Point Freight Depot
Meant to look like a train station, the Freight Depot has some pretty fun photo ops. My favorite is the one where you get to put your face in the eyes of a large sculpture. It’s also a fun place to get pictures of the train passing by. You can’t miss this depot, standing across from the entrance to the Mystic Manor attraction and the Mystic Manor facade.
Klook.comGarden of Wonders
The Garden of Wonders is a fun area where you can see a bunch of optical illusions. This is a quiet, shaded area of the park where you can take a break in as well. To see the full extent of the optical illusions, and for the best pictures, use the round viewing lenses that can be found near each optical illusion. You can usually position a camera here to take pictures through the lens.
Woody, Rex, and Mr. Potato Head in Toy Story Land

Next we’re going to take pictures by the 3 statues of Toy Story characters in Toy Story Land. You can find Rex by the entrance to Toy Story Land from Mystic Point, and Woody on the opposite side of the land by the entrance near Fantasyland. Mr. Potato Head, on the other hand, can be found outside Andy’s Toy Box.
Klook.comToy Story Land Ride Photo Ops
There are fun photo ops outside the attraction entrances to both Toy Soldier Parachute Drop and RC Racer. Parachute Drop has a picture spot that makes you look like you’re in a parachute with the toy soldiers. RC’s makes you look like you’re on a half pipe track. Also, the attractions themselves make for great photo ops, especially Slinky Dog Spin and RC Racer.
Fairy Tale Forest

Fairy Tale Forest is a walkthrough attraction in Fantasyland. Located opposite Dumbo the Flying Elephant, it features manicured gardens with miniatures themed to various classic Disney movies like Tangled, The Little Mermaid, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast.
Each garden has a lot of photo spots, including themed frames that you can take pictures with, as well as the aforementioned miniatures of landmarks like Rapunzel’s tower and Beast’s castle. Don’t forget to check out the music boxes located in each garden and to turn the wheels to unlock magical surprises.
Klook.comDream Makers Statue

The Dream Makers statue is a statue of Walt Disney that was added to the park to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary in 2023. The statue of Walt has him looking at the carousel with Mickey by his side, a nod to when he thought up the idea of Disneyland while watching his daughters on a carousel in Griffith Park. The statue is on a bench which you can sit on to look like you’re sitting beside Walt. Best to do this in the late afternoon so the sun is shining on the castle behind you.
Fantasia Statue

The Fantasia statue is a statue of Sorcerer Mickey placed on top of some rocks with his famous broomstick creations placed around him. It’s located near the entrance to Fantasy Gardens in Fantasyland near the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. There’s even one statue of a broomstick located outside the main statue, which you can take pictures with. But the main statue itself is gorgeous and one of the best photo spots at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Klook.comIt’s a Small World

The facade of It’s a Small World is unique, eye-catching, and amazing for photos. You can also take pictures with the compass on the ground in front of the ride that has different places and their distances on plaques in the ground. This facade is even prettier at night, however, so if you need a good place to get a nighttime shot, this would be it.
World of Frozen

I didn’t specify a specific place in World of Frozen because there are so many picturesque places in the land that I thought I would lump them all together. Some of my favorite places to take pictures are the snowflake fountain, the end of the pier area with the castle behind you, the King Agnar bridge with the lighthouse and the castle in the background, the little forest area with the trolls and Bruni, and the exterior of the Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs coaster.
Klook.comSpace Mountain

Space Mountain’s iconic white exterior, slanted roof, and futuristic design make it an incredible place to take photos with. You can take pictures with it from anywhere, but for a cooler vantage point, take pictures beside Comet Cafe where the roof of Comet Cafe looks like waves making their way to the building.
Orbitron
With its iconic orb design with planets spinning around it, Orbitron not only adds so much kinetic energy to the land, but also makes for very pretty photo ops. The best place to take pictures with it would probably be from the entrance of Tomorrowland. Another good place would be from near Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle so you can get it and Space Mountain in one shot.
Klook.comTomorrowland Sign and Starliner Diner Photo Ops
The Tomorrowland planet and sign is a classic Hong Kong Disneyland photo opp. Most people will go under the planet and pretend to lift it up. Another place for pictures would be the rocket ship spewing mist outside the entrance to Starliner Diner, along with the nearby astronaut photo opp that you can put your head in for pictures.
Photography Services at Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland has a plethora of photography services for those of you who want to elevate your pictures to the next level. Let’s break down each service to find the right one for you, should you want to use them.
PhotoPass

Photopass at Hong Kong Disneyland works the same way as PhotoPass in the other Disney Parks. It costs HK$398 (US$50.88) which gives you unlimited PhotoPass photos for a day. How it works is you take a picture with a PhotoPass photographer, who will give you a PhotoPass code that you can then link to your account. Once it’s in your account, you can preview photos and decide if you want to buy all of them by buying PhotoPass or just buy a couple of them. A digital download of a single photo costs HK$68 (US$8.69).
PhotoPass Photographers are scattered throughout the park, including at major photo spots like the Castle of Magical Dreams, The Mickey Floral, and World of Frozen. They’re also available at character meeting locations like the Royal Reception Hall, Fantasy Gardens, and the Iron Man Tech Showcase. If you’re fine with limiting yourself to pictures at these places, then definitely consider buying this. If you want more personalized pictures, however, then keep reading.
Klook.comWorld of Frozen Personal Photography Service

If you want a more personalized picture taking service, you can book one of two personal photography services packages. The first is specifically for World of Frozen. For 30 minutes, a dedicated Disney photographer will follow you around World of Frozen and take as many pictures as you want around the entire World of Frozen. You are not confined to specific locations like you are with PhotoPass.
The service has three pricing tiers. The first is the HK$899 (US$114.93) tier that includes all pictures available as digital downloads. The next is the HK$1298 (US$165.93) tier that includes all photos as digital downloads and a photo album with 6 6R photos. The final tier is the HK$1598 (US$204.29) tier which includes digital downloads of all photos and a photo album with 10 8R photos.
You can buy multiple sessions in increments of 30 minutes each. 6 people is the maximum number of people allowed in a single group. You will pick a date and time for the service to start on the Hong Kong Disneyland website. Purchasing this service does not include park tickets or a park reservation. You must purchase park tickets and make a park reservation in addition to purchasing the service. If you want a more personalized photography service in World of Frozen, definitely consider this.
Klook.comMagic Snaps Personal Photography Service

The Magic Snaps service is the same as the World of Frozen service, but this one covers the rest of the park. Just like the previous package, a dedicated photographer will follow you around the park for up to 30 minutes and will take as many pictures for you as you would like. You are also not confined to specific locations like you are with PhotoPass.
The service has three pricing tiers. The first is the HK$799 (US$102.14) tier that includes all pictures available as digital downloads. The next is the HK$1198 (US$153.15) tier that includes all photos as digital downloads and a photo album with 6 6R photos. The final tier is the HK$1498 (US$191.50) tier which includes digital downloads of all photos and a photo album with 10 8R photos.
Just like the World of Frozen package, you can buy multiple sessions in increments of 30 minutes each. 6 people is the maximum number of people allowed in a single group. You will pick a date and time for the service to start on the Hong Kong Disneyland website. Purchasing this service does not include park tickets or a park reservation. You must still purchase park tickets and make a park reservation in addition to purchasing the service. Definitely consider this if you want a more personalized photo taking service.
