Walt Disney World gave several updates on some current and future attractions coming to its parks. Walt Disney World is currently in the midst of several huge projects that are set to change the landscape of Walt Disney World. From Monstropolis to Tropical Americas, many things are in store for future Walt Disney World guests. Today, Walt Disney World gave us updates on two of their new projects: The Muppets Rock N’ Roller Coaster retheme coming to Hollywood Studios and Zootopia: Better Zoogether coming to the Tree of Life theater at Animal Kingdom. They also gave a surprise update on a ride that’s been around for almost a decade: Frozen Ever After. Let’s get into it!

Frozen Ever After Animatronic Upgrades

The first announcement was probably my favorite announcement of the bunch: Frozen Ever After at Epcot will receive brand new animatronics for Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff. Gone are the projected faces that have become the source of ire among fans and in are the new, more lifelike faces that you can currently see at Frozen Ever After in Hong Kong Disneyland. No strict timeline was given for when the animatronics will change over, but it was stated on the Disney Parks Blog that these changes would come “early next year”.

I for one am very excited about this. Epcot’s Frozen Ever After was always seen as inferior to Hong Kong Disneyland’s version because of the weird-looking projected faces. Now with this upgrade Epcot’s version will finally be brought up to standard! I can’t wait for these changes to come to the Norway Pavilion. I still think Hong Kong Disneyland has the edge when it comes to Frozen Ever After because of the more natural spacing between scenes, but they’ll essentially be the same ride after these changes are made.

Muppets Rock N’ Roller Coaster Retheme

Walt Disney World announced yesterday that the Rock N’ Roller Coaster retheme coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open in Summer 2026. This means we finally have a timeline for the opening of the ride. They also announced that, together with the previously announced Scooter animatronic for the pre-show, additional Muppets characters in animatronic form will be present in the attraction when it opens.

I’m glad that the retheme will happen quickly, as so many things are currently closed at Walt Disney World that they need to churn out these projects as quickly as they can without sacrificing quality. While I think a Muppets dark ride should have been created instead, I am excited for this new retheme. I love the Muppets so this is right up my alley.

Zootopia: Better Zoogether Clawhauser Animatronic Preview

Speaking of things opening soon, Zootopia: Better Zoogether opens in about a month! This new show will be housed in the Tree of Life Theater, which was where It’s Tough to Be a Bug was since opening day until its closing a couple of months ago. Walt Disney World announced that the plot of the show will focus on a celebration known as Zoogether Day. On Zoogether Day, all kinds of animals will perform in their respective biomes as part of the celebration.

But the big piece of news was that Officer Clauwhauser from the movie will be present in animatronic form in the attraction. He will be located in the theater itself and will be sporting a new outfit in celebration of Zoogether Day!

I love the movie Zootopia so this has me incredibly excited! It has big shoes to fill, however, as I thought It’s Tough to Be a Bug was an amazing attraction. Hopefully this show follows the theme of conservation that is present in the other offerings at Animal Kingdom. I would hate for this to just be another 3D show, especially because It’s Tough to Be a Bug did an amazing job capturing the edutainment aspect of Animal Kingdom.
